How to | inrichting van de eetkamer

Een aparte eetkamer of één grote ruimte? Het inrichten van de eetkamer of -gedeelte is best wel een dingetje. Hoe richt je deze ruimte nu in? Hierbij een aantal praktische tips en inspiratie.

In een eetkamer zijn de eettafel en de stoelen de eyecatcher van de ruimte. Wat voor tafel is geschikt? En wat voor stoelen? En hoe kleed je het voor de rest aan? Stuk voor stuk relevante vragen als je met de inrichting van deze ruimte aan de slag gaat. Door onderstaande tips toe te passen, kan het niet meer misgaan.

1. Super, super belangrijk is rekening te houden met de grootte van de eetkamer. Een grote ruimte kan een grote eettafel hebben, en misschien zelfs een buffetkast of dressoir. Is de ruimte klein, dan oogt de kamer meteen vol. Mogelijk is een ronde tafel beter geschikt. Houd dus rekening met de grootte en de beschikbare ruimte.
2. Vraag je af waarvoor je de eetkamer gaat gebruiken. Uitsluitend om te eten, of gebruik je de eettafel ook om te knutselen, te borrelen en als werkplek. Dit is namelijk belangrijk voor de keuze van materialen, hoe goed is het schoon te houden, en hoe comfortabel moeten je stoelen zijn.
3. Nummer 2 is ook van belang voor de verlichting. Gebruik je je eettafel als werkplek, dan is goed functioneel licht enorm belangrijk. Verlichting is er in alle soorten en stijlen, een tip hierbij is de mogelijkheid om het licht te dimmen. Zo heb je altijd het juiste licht. Tegenwoordig hebben wij dit ook, en het is echt ideaal!
4. Doe inspiratie op. Online is onwijs veel inspiratie te vinden. Zo krijg je automatisch een gevoel welke look je zoekt en wat je mooi vindt.
5. Nu kunnen we beginnen met decoreren. Laten we dit aan de hand van beelden bij mij thuis doen. In ons appartement hadden we een grote living van 50 m2, de ene kant was het zitgedeelte en de kant – het dichtste bij de keuken – het eetgedeelte. Doordat de living een behoorlijk formaat had, koos ik hier voor een grote eettafel in combinatie met een mix van verschillende eetkamerstoelen. Naast de tafel stond een grote buffetkast, aan de muur hing een IXXI met foto’s van mooie herinneringen en aan het plafond een witte industriële hanglamp.

In onze huidige woning zien we eigenlijk een soortgelijke lay-out. Weliswaar hebben we het huis dusdanig ingedeeld dat het eetgedeelte naast de keuken ligt (vanaf de eettafel kijk je op de keuken en vice versa), de ruimte met de eettafel is kleiner dan in onze vorige woning. We kozen daarom voor een ronde eettafel. De buffetkast staat links van de eettafel met aan de muur een fotowand met diverse zwart-wit foto’s met bijzondere herinneringen.

Wat beide eetkamers met elkaar gemeen hebben, is dat ik de tafel heb afgestyled met mooie accessoires. Op foto 1 heb ik met bloemen en verschillende vaasjes een kleurrijke, vrolijke look gecreëerd. Bloemen zijn echt ideale sfeer items. Op foto 2, zie je ook weer een mooie bos bloemen. Voor dit jaargetijde ben ik helemaal van droog- of zijdebloemen. Verder en ook leuk, zie je een dienblad met een aantal mooie woonaccessoires. Heb je de tafel nodig, dan ruim je de eettafel in één slag af. Heb je nu geen zin in bloemen of woonaccessoires, ga dan voor een leuke plant. Zo zie je op mijn tafel een terrarium met planten. Doordat dit een mini-ecosysteem heeft, heb je er qua onderhoud geen omkijken naar.  Zoals je ziet, met slechts een paar items kun je een hele andere sfeer op je eettafel creëren. Mijn tip: experimenteer! Je ziet vanzelf of het leuk staat.

A separate dining room or one large room? Decorating the dining room or section is quite a thing. How do you decorate this space? Here are some practical tips and inspiration.

In a dining room the dining table and chairs are definitely the eyecatcher of the room. So what table to choose? And what kind of seats? And how to decorate the rest? All relevant questions when you start decorating. By applying these tips, it cannot go wrong.

1. Super super important is to take into account the size of the dining room. A large room can have a large dining table, and maybe even a sideboard or a dresser. Is the space small, the room looks immediately full. Maybe a round table is more suitable. Therefore it is wise to keep the size and space in mind.
2. Ask yourself how you are going to use the dining room. Only to eat, or will you use the table to do some crafting, working, playing games? This is important for the choice of materials, how well you can keep it clean, and if you need really comfortable seats.
3. Number 2 is also very important for the illumination. Do you use your dining table as a workplace, you need really good functional light. Lighting is available in all shapes and sizes. Also a good thing is the ability to dim the light. This way you always have the right light.
4. Get inspired! Online you can find so much inspiration. This way you automatically get a sense of what look you want and what you like.
5. Now we can start decorating. We do this by looking at pictures of my homes. In our previous home we had a large living room of 50 m2, one side was the seating area and the side – closest to the kitchen – the dining area. Because the living room had a decent size, I opted for a large dining table and a mix of dining room chairs. Next to the table was a large sideboard, on the wall hanged an IXXI with pictures of special memories and onto the ceiling a white industrial pendant light. We actually see a similar layout in our current living room. Although we have arranged the house in such a way that the dining area is next to the kitchen (from the dining table you look at the kitchen and vice versa), the space with the dining table is smaller than in our previous house. We therefore opted for a round dining table. Left of the dining table you can find a large sideboard and pictures on the wall. What both dining rooms have in common is that I have styled the table with beautiful accessories. In photo 1 I created a colorful, cheerful look with flowers and different vases. Flowers are really ideal mood items. On photo 2, you see a beautiful bunch of flowers. For this time of year I am all about a beautiful bunch of dried or silk flowers. Also nice, you see a tray with some nice home accessories on the table. If you need the table, you can clear the dining table in one go. If you don’t feel like flowers or home accessories, go for a nice plant. For example, on my table you see a terrarium with plants. Because this has a mini ecosystem, you don’t have to worry about maintenance. As you can see, with just a few items you can create a completely different atmosphere on your dining table. My tip: experiment! You will see for yourself if it looks nice.
